Bud is an information tool, not a medical device. This policy explains the personal information that the bud.quest website collects and how Zedsio Inc. handles it. The Bud mobile application, when it launches, will be governed by a separate in-app notice.

Who we are

This website (bud.quest) and the Bud product are operated by Zedsio Inc., a corporation based in Toronto. References to “Bud,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy mean Zedsio Inc.

The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Zedsio Inc. is Amir Soleimanian, founder. You can reach Amir at amirsole2005@gmail.com.

Mailing address: Zedsio Inc., Toronto, Canada. Privacy questions can also be sent to privacy@bud.quest.

What information we collect

On this website, we collect only what we need to operate the waitlist and to understand how people use the site:

  • Waitlist signup: your name, your email address, and the optional “focus” and “region” selections you choose when joining.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, referring page, pages visited, and approximate location (country/region) — collected by our analytics providers.
  • Cookies and local storage: small strings stored in your browser to remember whether you have already joined the waitlist or dismissed the signup popup.

The Bud mobile application, once launched, will collect additional information (such as the dietary profile you choose to provide and the scans you perform). That collection will be governed by a separate in-app notice. This website does not collect that information today.

How we use your information

  • To add you to, and manage, the Bud beta waitlist.
  • To send you product updates and early-access invitations related to Bud — only if you have given us your consent by joining the waitlist.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it (for example, which pages are visited, where visitors come from).
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents on the site.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles unrelated to Bud.

Who we share your information with

We share information only with service providers we use to operate the site, and only as needed for them to perform their service. These providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. The current providers are:

  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery.
  • Supabase — database storage for waitlist signups.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery for notifications.
  • Google Analytics — site-usage analytics.
  • Microsoft Clarity — session-level usability analytics.
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising measurement via the Meta Pixel for our Lead Ads campaign.

We may also disclose information when required by law, by valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Zedsio Inc., our users, or the public.

Data retention

We keep your waitlist information for as long as you remain on the waitlist and, after you ask to be removed, for the time period that Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) requires us to keep records of consent and unsubscribe requests.

Analytics data is kept for the default retention period of each analytics provider. Cookie and local-storage values stay on your device until you clear them or until they expire.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time by writing to privacy@bud.quest.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • ask us to provide it in a structured, commonly used electronic format (data portability);
  • withdraw your consent to any processing that is based on your consent;
  • ask us to stop sending you marketing emails (you can also click the unsubscribe link in any email we send you).

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@bud.quest. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, if you are in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use a small number of cookies, local-storage entries, and tracking pixels:

  • Essential local storage (bud_waitlist_joined, bud_waitlist_dismissed) — remembers whether you have already joined or dismissed the waitlist popup, so we don’t show it to you again.
  • Google Analytics 4 — measures site usage and traffic sources.
  • Microsoft Clarity — captures aggregated usability information (clicks, scrolls, session recordings) to help us improve the site.
  • Meta Pixel — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and attributes conversions (such as joining the waitlist) to ad campaigns.

You can disable cookies and tracking through your browser settings, your operating system’s privacy controls, or by using browser extensions that block these scripts. Doing so will not affect your ability to use this site.

Marketing emails and CASL

When you join the Bud waitlist, you give us express consent under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) to send you commercial electronic messages about Bud — including product updates, early-access invitations, and beta announcements.

Every commercial email we send includes our identity, our contact information, and a one-click unsubscribe mechanism. You can withdraw your consent at any time. We will keep a record of your consent and of any unsubscribe request as required by law.

Children’s privacy

Bud is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@bud.quest and we will delete it.

Quebec Law 25 specific disclosures

If you are a resident of Quebec, the following additional disclosures apply under An Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (commonly referred to as “Law 25”):

  • Person in charge of personal information protection: Amir Soleimanian, founder of Zedsio Inc., reachable at amirsole2005@gmail.com.
  • Communications outside Quebec: the service providers listed in the “Who we share your information with” section are based in Canada or in the United States and may store or process your information outside Quebec.
  • Automated decision-making: this website does not use your information to make decisions about you that are based exclusively on automated processing. The Bud mobile application, when launched, will produce automated ingredient-matching verdicts based on a profile you provide. Those verdicts will be informational, not medical, and will be governed by a separate in-app notice.
  • Right to be informed: you may ask us how we collect and use your information, request access or correction, and ask us to stop using or to delete your information, by writing to privacy@bud.quest.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, we will notify you by email or through the site.
